A friend of mine recently said to me, "You know how a lot of famous artists and writers eventually go crazy?" I knew about the artist part, but writers? That was new. XD She brought up the case of Virginia Woolf and how she committed suicide.

TTATT I don't wanna go crazy! (And I'm both an artist and a writer too, though I doubt I'll ever be famous for either hobby, haha.)

(laughs) Anyways. I'm reading a book (suggested by the same friend) titled Outliers. It discusses how the conditions and special opportunities that people receive even at birth can affect whether or not they are "successful" in life. It's an amazing book. The author, Malcolm Gladwell, argues that circumstances and luck matter more to one's success than natural ability. There's also something called the "Ten Thousand Hour Rule", which basically states that the minimum requirement for becoming an expert on something is ten thousand hours of practice.

You can guess what I'm doing from now on. XD Not that I wasn't doing it already. I even draw during class! (Bad Kanon! Bad!) And PE class is, at its core, a joke. Everyone's even given up on wearing their uniforms. It's a free period, almost. And guess what I do during that hour of free time? AHA, YOU GUESSED IT. Drawing. Maybe I should start tallying my hours from now on? It takes about ten years to get ten thousand hours. Heh. Heheheh.
